WHERE TO EAT?

Eating out in the villages can be very enjoyable - and cheap
.
LIMNES has two good tavernas which are open every
evening for food, and mainly drinks in the daytime.

NEAPOLI has a good taverna in the middle of its central
square. At lunchtime it has a selection of special
dishes. There is also a pizzeria, nearly opposite the Spar
supermarket, which offers a wide range of pizza and pasta
dishes andalso a small selection of daily specials
which are often well worth having.

LATSIDA has a locally renown taverna at the entrance to
the village. It is very popular. The menu is not that large
but the food is excellent. A little further up
the village on your right is a kafenion with a painted
exterior which is also worth a visit. One of their
specialities is their selection of mezedes which come
free when you order a carafe of wine or a serving of raki.

Going up the mountain from Latsida is VRAHASSI which
has two good tavernas, one in the central square with
wonderful views.

If you carry on further over the mountains, you come to
the fishing village of Milatos which has a selection of
enticing fish tavernas, which also serve meat.

If you want something a little more international AG
NIKOLAOS is the place. The lakeside restaurants
are good although a little pricey and there are many other
eateries dotted all around town..

MALIA can provide English food for those who are missing
it plus a Macdonalds, and Indian and Chinese restaurants.
It also has varied selection of Cretan restaurants.
